Description
The 23092 Series DC Starter Generators are manufactured or cataloged by Safran Power (TRW Lucas Goodrich) and operate as a motor to provide torque for engine starting and as a generator to provide DC electrical power after engine starting is accomplished. When used as an engine starter, the starter-generator can be energized either by batteries or by ground-power units. The Output Rating is 9 kW and the external starting power supply limitations are self-limiting current load of 1,700 A max. with 28 VDC Max. The Continuous Load in Speed Range is 27VDC, 200A @ 5,470 RPM to 12,000 RPM 30VDC, 200A @ 12,000 RPM with 0.4 Ω resister in field circuit. Generally, these Starter Generators are used on turboprop aircraft serving the commercial and military sectors and are self-excited machines incorporating four main poles and four interpoles. The generator is self-cooled.
